INDUSTRIAL MOVING HOOD KILNS

TRAVELLING HOOD KILNS FOR LARGE LOAD THERMAL PROCESSING

CDS Group designs and manufactures industrial moving hood kilns for large, heavy or difficult-to-handle loads where the kiln body travels to the load, rather than the load being moved into the kiln.

Moving hood kilns are ideal for specialist thermal processing applications where products are positioned on one or more fixed hearths, stationary bases or loading platforms. The hood travels horizontally between heating positions, helping support flexible loading, reduced handling and efficient use of production floor space.

Available in gas-fired, electric or bespoke heating configurations, CDS Group moving hood kilns can be engineered around the process temperature, load size, heating profile, insulation package, burner arrangement and control requirements of each application.

DESIGN APPROACH

CDS Group can engineer moving hood kilns around the process, the product and the production environment. Each system can be designed to suit load dimensions, operating temperature, travel arrangement, number of bases, heating method, burner configuration, insulation system, access requirements and control package. The moving hood design is particularly suited to applications where load weight, fragility or handling complexity makes it more practical for the kiln to travel over the product.
