CDS CHAMBER DRYERS FOR SANITARYWARE PIECES

CDS chamber dryers are engineered to provide unmatched efficiency and performance in drying sanitaryware pieces. The key design features of these chamber dryers include:

  • A universal, modular design with a minimum of 4 cars, making these industrial chamber dryers suitable for operations of varying scales.
  • The ability to design drying cycles tailored precisely to the characteristics of different pieces, ensuring optimal performance across all chamber dryers.
  • A hybrid design that can operate either a fast, conventional humidity-controlled drying cycle or in R-02 mode, depending on the shape, style and weight of the ware.
  • Drying cycles that range from: 7 hours – Tanks, 10 hours – Washbasins & Pedestals, 12 hours – WCs, 16 hours – 1Pc WCs.

A unique door design also ensures fast and efficient loading while maintaining an air-tight seal. With high thermal efficiencies of around 900 to 1,000 kcals per kg of water removed, these chamber dryers provide manufacturers with a dependable and consistent ceramic drying solution.

CDS CHAMBER DRYERS FOR SANITARYWARE MOULDS

CDS chamber dryers for sanitaryware moulds share many of the key design features of the ware dryers, offering exceptional adaptability and performance. Key features include:

  • A universal, modular design that accommodates any number of loaded pallets and stillages, loaded efficiently by a forklift truck.
  • The ability to stack stillages in multiple rows with aisles for optimised air circulation, making these chamber dryers versatile and practical for various mould drying requirements.
  • Easy-to-operate overhead sliding doors that facilitate fast and seamless loading.

Drying cycles for these industrial chamber dryers range from 48 hours to a maximum of 72 hours, depending on the weight and characteristics of the moulds. With high thermal efficiencies of around 1,000 to 1,200 kcals per kg of water removed, these chamber dryers offer impressive efficiency and make excellent use of available waste heat from tunnel kilns.

CASE STUDY

SUPPORTING IBSTOCK AT NOSTELL

CDS Group is proud to support Ibstock at its Ceramic Facades facility at Nostell, delivering engineered drying systems designed around product quality, process efficiency and energy performance. The project included five chamber dryers with individual temperature, humidity and airflow control, alongside two tunnel dryers developed to reduce product moisture from around 2% to below 0.5%. The system is integrated into the wider manufacturing environment and supports the use of surplus kiln heat to pre-heat fresh air entering the dryers. In this video, Ibstock and CDS Group discuss the original drying challenge, the solution developed for the site and the positive impact the system has had on drying time, production planning and energy efficiency.
